A blog post on Irish soda bread from Sexy Cuisine reminded me that St. Patrick’s Day was coming. I had never had soda bread. This is good bread. It has a strong flavor created by the buttermilk and baking soda. This bread had a great flavor of wheat. It was easy to knead. I used a recipe from a book, but it is not much different than the recipe at Sexy cuisine. The only significant difference is that the recipe that I used substituted some buttermilk with water. I was looking at a dough that might have been more similar to a batter. The dough was baked in a cake pan. Happy St. Patrick’s Day!
